What about me?

Hi everyone, and welcome to my first blog about becoming a science teacher! I have had blogs before, both personal and for academic purposes, so it is safe to say I am experienced in the blogging world. Through this blog, I will talk about things we learn in class, reflect on my own science knowledge and misconceptions, and venture on my quest to find out what makes an effective science teacher.

A little bit about myself:
1. I was born (and raised) in Nashville, TN. I still live in Nashville, and I commute to the boro everyday for class and work. I am currently living with my best friends from kindergarten, Dede!

2. I graduated from The University of Tennessee Knoxville last May (2014), with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in elementary education.

3. I work as a graduate assistant at MTSU in the College of Education under Dr. Kathleen Burriss.

4. In my free time, I enjoy going to Neighborhood Barre (a work out studio), baking, spending time with friends, and sippin on a cold beer in my backyard in West Nashville.

5. I have three cats: Daisy, Kiffin, and Murphy (meow)!

I can't wait to get to know all of you, as we embark on our journey through "Teaching Science." This will be a whirlwind class, and I am looking forward to it!
